We were so excited to be awarded Gold in both the Junior Design Awards and the City Kids Green Awards this year. Talou launched at the end of 2023, so to be recognised for both our designs and our green initiatives in our first year of trading is extra special.
Here’s the lowdown on what the judges said.
Junior Design Awards, Gold, Best Fashion Newcomer
'Talou made a bold entrance this year with their collection of vibrant, creative knitwear made from dead-stock yarns. Our judges especially loved the trade-in initiative, where you can sell back old pieces for a bigger size as your child grows and the knitwear they’ve loved can be passed on to the next little adventurer and continue its journey. Earth-inspired tones meet extraordinary quality here, the panel were impressed by the thoughtful details like the boxy fit and fold back cuffs, both of which help extend the wearability of the jumpers.’
City Kid’s Green Awards, Gold, Best Initiative
‘Judges will have been impressed by Talou’s innovative buyback promise, allowing parents to trade in outgrown pieces for larger sizes. This approach extends the lifespan of their 100% wool garments, creating a collection of cherished new and preloved items that tell a shared story as they pass from child to child.
Talou’s commitment to recyclability is another standout feature. Partnering with Mary’s Living & Giving Charity Shops, they recycle end-of-life wool and cashmere garments to create new yarns while supporting Save the Children. By combining sustainability, style, and social impact, Talou embodies a heartfelt mission to make shopping guilt-free and meaningful.’
We are so excited to see how the brand will grow over the next year. Follow us here and on Instagram for more information about our recycling project, in collaboration with Mary's Living and Giving Charity Shops for Save the Children.
